Our Roots
Established in 1974 by the Kent Lions Club, the market was created to support local fundraising efforts while promoting community engagement. Over the years, it has evolved into one of South King County’s most respected open-air markets. In 2025, Living Well Kent, a nonprofit organization focused on health, equity, and food access, took over production of the market. This marked a new era rooted in inclusivity, access to healthy food, and support for underrepresented communities.
